Justifying the Cost of USFreeAds Premium Membership

Nobody likes adding annual fees to their plate… especially entrepreneurs, who are always looking to make more and spend less while doing it. Here’s a perspective on why I found USFreeAds Premium ($9.99/mo) to be worth it:

• The cost of submitting links to the two most prestigious directories on the internet are outrageous: The cost of a single Yahoo Directory link is $300 per year. The cost of a listing on BOTW.org is $79.95/year. In both cases – that’s only for one deep link, with an average page rank of only 1 or 2. In my experiences, both have been a completely wasted investment. Beyond some possible credibility from search engines, you’ll never get a visible boost insearch engine rankings from either service, nor will you get a page 1 or 2 listing for a keyword. The traffic you’ll receive from these directories are virtually non-existent (who uses directories to find websites, anyway?)
• The average cost of directory submission software: $99… for backlinks on PR N/A, PR 0 and PR 1 pages from privately-owned web directories that get no visibility on any major search engines. And, you STILL have to submit manually – the software just makes it marginally easier to do, but is still not fool-proof.
• The average cost of manual directory submission services: $15-20 for 100 backlinks to privately owned, no traffic/no visibility directories (and the fact that the submitter you’re hiring will be seeing your niche, keywords and content, and may very well compete with you at some point in the future).
• Google AdWords – I’ve been professionally managing Google AdWords in corporate environments for over four years now. If you’re a corporation, spending $200/day is not a problem.
