Think about it! If a marketer offers you just ONE of these products for say $7 or $9, but then tries to upsell you for the PLR or MRR for say $10 or $12, you’ve just spent on ONE PRODUCT what you would spend for Gold Membership and be able to download ALL OF THE VERY SAME PRODUCTS they are selling you each and every month! You’ll be getting the products from the very same place 99% of the other marketers are getting them!

The same holds true if you’re an affiliate.  While it may seem easy to convert sales for products that are being blown out for $2 or $3, remember you are only conditioning your list to expect products at this price and when you try to offer higher quality products, your own products, or products that require a sizable investment to obtain and resell, you’ll be hard pressed to get the price you really need to get to make it profitable.  If you have a list of mostly “Freebie” seekers, it may be fine to send out these low end older products, but if you continually send to your better responsive lists, eventually you’ll find the quality of those lists will plummet.

In the latest installment of “Anything To Make A Buck” I found a sale released today offering “Instant Amazon Stores” which is basically a set of website scripts with different niche topics where you add your Amazon affiliate ID and upload.

But the first question is….granted it’s only a few dollars (for now as it’s on a dimesale) but why would anyone seek out one of these sites you put up rather than just going directly to Amazon.com and searching for what they are looking for?  Now, obviously you would be better served by having, say, a “weight loss blog” with some relevant info for readers and THEN have an Amazon Ad or Widget offering related products.  You are not going to attract visitors by simply offering Amazon products when they can find all they’ll ever want to find at Amazon.com  But if you are offering some relevant info like “how to count calories” or maybe “low fat recipes” you’d be more likely to grab someone’s attention and THEN interest them in a relevant book or product available at Amazon.

Honestly, for any one to offer you these as a valid way to earn Amazon Commissions by themselves, is doing you a disservice in my opinion and you really should consider asking for a refund.

But the most egregious thing about this offer is that it’s trying to sell you something that Amazon.com already gives you FREE!  In fact…it even links to where you can get the Widget it’s using!!

You could just login to your Amazon Affilaite account and build your own widget that does the same thing (actually much more….read on…) and it’s 100% FREE!  Not to mention, you can customize the keywords and/or products it displays which you would not be able to do with the pre-made sites with the pre-coded widget offered (unless you are experienced at coding anyway).  And frankly, the Widget you’ll get FREE from Amazon is going to be more appealing and more readily recognized as something “Amazon.com” .  Now I’ve created a particularly large Widget here for demonstration purposes, but you can build one’s with standard ad dimensions and specify columns, rows, products and more….

Do yourself a favor…when you want to earn commissions on any given niche, build yourself some blogs for free….get some relevant content via public domain for free and get your Amazon.com Widget for free!  You can even find some really great PLR content for the blog for a very small investment.  But, the bottom line is, these blogs and free or low cost resources will serve you better than some static html site which displays a pre-coded widget you can’t control.

UPDATE: It’s sad…but it appears that this marketer has found enough people that don’t KNOW ANY BETTER to justify launching a second set of these worthless “upload and earn” (figuratively that is…) sites. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

WordPress 3.3 has arrived.  But if you intend on updating your blogs, you’ll want to insure your plugins, widgets etc are going to be compatible with the update.

Even more important…before you BUY any premium WordPress plugins, PLR Blogs, Add-ons etc…you’ll want to be sure they are compatible with 3.3 too!

I saw a Christmas Fire Sale released today and along with the usual offerings of old outdated products or products with giveaway rights (which means the PLR and MRR are essentially worthless) they were offering 25 of the PLR Boy PLR Blogs.  Well, those blogs are not even compatible with WordPress 3.1 and the developer no longer supports them.  So if you get them, they’re worthless unless you are willing to go to the Theme provider and purchase a license allowing you to update the framework.  If you’re not looking to spend $75, then don’t let those sway your purchase decision.

Bottom line, ANY product you are looking at for WordPress you will need to check it’s compatibility with the version of WordPress you intend to use or update to.

Tis’ the season when many marketer’s have their holiday promotions and fire sales!  But as a buyer you need to be particularly wary of these sales.

All too often, the products they are giving you are older products, products that have been mass distributed already or worse are available for FREE elsewhere.

Another common downfall to these sales is that many of the marketer’s will actually violate the license terms for these products (minimum pricing requirements usually) in order to get the price down so low.  The problem you run into here is that if you purchase a PLR or MMR license from a marketer that is selling these in violation of the license terms, your license is not legally valid and could be completely worthless.  Not to mention, some of the bigger MRR and PLR authors have the money AND the resources to come after you if you sell their products with an invalid license.

So look carefully and maybe even check out some of the products before buying.  If you find them being offered free…well then you now see what you are getting.  If you see a product where everyone else is all selling at the same price that’s considerably more than what you are about to get it for, you can bet there is a minimum pricing requirement and thus a valid license is likely in question.
